ARCHumankind at the UN Environment Management Group Nexus Dialogue Series

On 26-27 April 2017, Paulo Casaca represented ARCHumankind at the UN Environment Management Group Nexus Dialogue in Geneva.
The UN Environment Management Group (EMG) held a series of dialogues to bring UN agencies and different stakeholders closer together in identifying further synergies to support the implementation of the environmental dimension of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
The Nexus Dialogue 1 involved discussions among UN officials, member states, the private sector and civil society, to share perspectives on implementation of the SDGs. In particular discussions focused on the environmental dimensions, challenges and opportunities of the integrated implementation of the SDGs and the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships to strengthen policy coherence and integrated policy development, using the nexus approach.

On 20 November 2019, the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran published a report on Iran’s uprising. The report indicates that there have been at least 251 killed, 3,700 injured, and 7,000 arrested; and the names of the 85 martyrs of the uprising in various cities are listed. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), called on the UN Security Council stating ‘The UNSC must demand an immediate halt in killings and the release of detainees. It must declare the leaders of the regime as criminals against humanity. They must face justice’.
