Paulo Casaca speaks at the University of Azores for Europe’s Day 2018 Commemorative Session

On 9 May 2018, Paulo Casaca participated in the commemorative session of the Day of Europe at the University of Açores. The Session was hosted by the students Association of Euro-Atlantic Studies (Núcleo de Estudantes de Estudos Euro-Atlânticos), and focused on the central theme- Three decades of European integration: what are the conclusions and challenges? The Session was moderated by Professor Luís Andrade and in the panel was Professor Vasco Garcia, as well as Paulo Casaca.

This Session not only involved discussions on the abovementioned theme, but it also paid tribute to the four new honorary partners: Paulo Casaca, Professor Maria do Céu Patrão Neves, MEP Sofia Ribeiro, and her advisor Paulo do Nascimento Cabral for their generous support to students enroled in an undergraduate and/ or Master’s degree. Their contributions included integrating students into the labour market through professional internships, study visits, and participation in activities of the Student Association.

The terror assault against this internationally crucial infrastructure, where some European countries have military facilities, caused severe damages, and led to at least three fatalities. The group is part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) network led by the Iranian regime and has been waging war against Yemeni authorities throughout the last decade.
