Tikrit Women’s Health Clinic

A new “Women’s Diagnostic Clinic” (the “Facility”) in Tikrit, Iraq will provide diagnostic services to a population of approximately 200,000 in the immediate area, and an additional 1.5 million females in the province of Salah Al-Din. The Facility will focus mainly on “Early Diagnosis of Breast Cancer”.

The Facility will be managed and operated by Hatem Mukhlis, M.D., an Iraqi-American physician who returned to his family’s ancestral hometown of Tikrit in April 2003 to assist with reconstruction efforts. Since then Dr. Mukhlis has been involved in numerous charitable and social causes in Tikrit, including the operation of two mobile medical clinics that provide general medical care. Dr. Mukhlis is also the founder and director of the Medical Organization for Development and Empowerment (MODE), a new registered non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing public health care needs in Tikrit. MODE recently received approval of its first grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development, for public health education activities.
